Description

This Sweet Condensed Milk Bread is soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet, making it perfect for breakfast, tea, or a snack. Made with sweetened condensed milk, it has a rich and tender crumb that tastes amazing plain, toasted, or with butter and jam!


Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 5/16 cup water, warm
  • 2 large eggs


Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough:
  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, water, condensed milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
2. Knead & First Rise:
  1. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
3. Shape & Second Rise:
  1. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces or shape it into a loaf.
  2. Place in a greased baking pan and cover. Let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
4. Bake:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brush the top with a little milk or egg wash for a golden crust.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
  1. Let cool slightly, then serve warm with butter or jam.

Notes

  • For a softer crust, brush with butter after baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • This bread can also be used for French toast or bread pudding!
