Description

Indulge in the creamy richness of old-fashioned chocolate fudge, made with Hershey’s cocoa and a hint of vanilla. This smooth, melt-in-your-mouth treat is perfect for holidays, gifting, or satisfying a chocolate craving. Best of all, it’s quick and easy—ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Hershey’s cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan

    • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Combine Ingredients

    • In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and milk until combined.
  • Cook the Mixture

    • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    • Continue boiling until the mixture reaches 234°F (112°C) on a candy thermometer (soft-ball stage).
  • Add Butter & Vanilla

    • Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
    • Let the mixture cool undisturbed for 5 minutes.
  • Beat the Fudge

    • Using a wooden spoon, stir vigorously until the fudge thickens and loses its shine (about 5-10 minutes).
  • Pour & Set

    • Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
    • Let it cool at room temperature until fully set.
  • Cut & Serve

    • Once firm, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Room Temperature: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Refrigeration: Keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks for a firmer texture.
  • Freezing: Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
  • Reheating: If fudge hardens too much, microwave for 5-10 seconds to soften slightly.
