Description

A warm and fluffy street food favorite from Korea, Gyeran Bbang is a soft, slightly sweet bread filled with a whole egg and baked to perfection. Perfect for breakfast or a quick snack!


Ingredients

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg (for batter)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Filling & Topping:

  • 6 small eggs (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin pan or small oval molds.

  • Prepare the Batter:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
    • Add milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Mix until the batter is smooth.
  • Assemble the Egg Bread:

    • Pour batter into the muffin molds, filling each about halfway.
    • Crack a whole egg on top of each mold.
    • Sprinkle with shredded cheese, if using.
  • Bake:

    • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the egg is set.
  • Garnish & Serve:

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of black pepper or a drizzle of honey.
  • Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
