- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cremini or white mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- 12 oz egg noodles
Instructions
- Cook the Noodles:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Sauté the Veggies:
- Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 4-5 minutes until tender.
- Make the Sauce:
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add beef broth while stirring, then mix in Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Finish with Sour Cream:
- Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream until fully combined.
- Combine & Serve:
- Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately!
