Description

Whip up this quick and comforting Ground Beef Stroganoff! A rich, creamy sauce with tender ground beef served over egg noodles, perfect for a hearty family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Instructions

1. Cook the Egg Noodles

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to package directions.
  2. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

2. Brown the Ground Beef

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat and transfer the beef to a plate. Set aside.

3. Make the Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and whisk continuously for 2 minutes to form a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Slowly add the milk, whisking and cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

4. Season and Combine

  1. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt, ensuring even distribution of the seasonings.
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Add the cooked egg noodles and browned ground beef back into the skillet.
  3. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through.

5. Add the Sour Cream

  1. Gently stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated into the sauce.

6. Serve

  1. Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.
  2. Pair with your favorite vegetable or garlic toast for a complete meal.
