Units Scale
Baking & Spices
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/3 tsp quick-rise yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • Pretzel salt (for topping)
Dairy
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
Liquids
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and sea salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
  • Shape the pretzel bites: Roll the dough into ropes, then cut into small bite-sized pieces.
  • Boil (optional but recommended): Bring a pot of water to a boil and drop the pretzel bites in for 30 seconds. Remove and pat dry.
  • Air fry: Brush the bites with melted butter, sprinkle with pretzel salt, and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 7-10 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Serve: Enjoy warm with cheese dip, mustard, or your favorite dip!

Notes

  • Boiling the pretzel bites before air frying gives them an authentic chewy texture.
  • For extra flavor, brush with garlic butter after cooking.
