For the Shortbread Base:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
For the Caramel Layer:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 12 oz milk chocolate, melted
- 1/4 cup white chocolate curls (for garnish)
- Chocolate candies (optional, for topping)

Prepare the Shortbread Base:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until crumbly. Stir in chocolate chips, if using.
- Press into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden.
- Let cool completely.

Make the Caramel Layer:
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in condensed milk, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and golden (about 10 minutes).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and pour over the cooled shortbread.
- Let set for 30 minutes.

Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
- Melt the milk chocolate and spread evenly over the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle with white chocolate curls and chocolate candies.

- Refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.
