Perfect for Valentine’s Day, special occasions, or just because, this decadent dessert is a treat made with love. These brownies are as stunning as they are delicious, creating the ultimate indulgent experience.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Brownies:

  • 18.3 oz box brownie mix
  • 3.9 oz box chocolate pudding mix
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (about 1/2 of a 1 lb package), hulled and halved
  • 12 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate (3 4-oz bars)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp salted butter

Instructions

Make the Brownies:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Batter:
    • In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, pudding mix, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Stir or mix until fully combined.
  3. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 34–37 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
  4. Cool Completely:
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan for 30–45 minutes before adding the topping.

Prepare the Topping:

  1. Add Strawberries:
    • Arrange the halved strawberries, flat side down, in an even layer on top of the cooled brownies.
  2. Make the Ganache:
    • Place the chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
    • In a small saucepan, heat the cream and butter over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts. Allow the mixture to bubble slightly around the edges, about 3 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate, ensuring it is fully covered.
  3. Stir and Set:
    • Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
    • Pour the ganache over the strawberries, tapping the pan gently on the counter to release air bubbles.
  4. Set the Topping:
    • Allow the ganache to set for 90 minutes at room temperature or 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Serve:

  1. Cut and Serve:
    • Use a sharp, slightly serrated knife or a plastic knife to cut into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • To Store: Refrigerate the brownies due to the fresh strawberries. They will last 2–3 days if properly covered.
  • To Freeze: Wrap brownies individually and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Ensure the brownies are completely cool before adding the strawberries and ganache to allow proper setting.
  • For clean cuts, use a sharp or plastic knife.
  • Due to the richness of these brownies, smaller servings are ideal.
