These Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleasers, combining sweet Hawaiian rolls with layers of savory ham, melted cheddar and Swiss cheeses, and a buttery, poppy seed topping. Perfect for game-day gatherings, parties, or a fun family dinner, they’re easy to make and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls (12-count)
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 lb thinly-sliced deli ham (e.g., Black Forest)
  • 1/4 lb deli-sliced sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 lb deli-sliced Swiss cheese

For the Topping:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of kosher salt (optional)

Instructions

. Prepare the Slider Spread:

  • Mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl. Set aside.

2. Toast the Rolls:

  • Use a serrated knife to slice the rolls horizontally, separating the tops from the bottoms.
  • Place the rolls cut side up on a baking sheet.
  • Preheat the broiler to high and toast the rolls for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden. Watch carefully to prevent burning.

3. Assemble the Sliders:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (reduce to 325°F for darker pans). Spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Place the bottom halves of the toasted rolls in the prepared dish. Spread half of the Dijon-mayo mixture on the rolls.
  • Layer cheddar cheese, ham, and Swiss cheese on top.
  • Spread the remaining Dijon-mayo mixture on the cut side of the top halves and place them over the Swiss cheese layer.

4. Prepare the Topping:

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • Pour the mixture over the sliders, using a basting brush to distribute it evenly over the tops and sides.

5. Bake the Sliders:

  • Cover the dish with foil and let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until the sliders are heated through and the cheese melts.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the tops are golden and crispy.

6. Serve:

  • Let the sliders cool for a few minutes, then cut into individual servings. Serve hot with chips, fries, or your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a layer of caramelized onions or roasted red peppers.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 325°F for 10-15 minutes.
