Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are the perfect blend of buttery croissants, savory ham, and melty cheese. A quick and easy recipe, they’re ideal for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch. Topped with a flavorful mayonnaise-mustard spread, these croissants are irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

  • Croissants, sliced in half
  • Deli ham, thinly sliced (e.g., black forest ham)
  • Cheese, thinly sliced (Muenster, Havarti, Cheddar, Swiss, etc.)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Stoneground mustard, to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Prepare the Mayonnaise Mixture

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, a squeeze of stoneground mustard, and a few chopped fresh chives (if using). Mix well.

Step 3: Assemble the Croissants

  1. Spread a bit of the mayonnaise mixture on the bottom half of each croissant.
  2. Layer a slice of cheese, some deli ham, and another slice of cheese on top. Cover with the top half of the croissant.

Step 4: Bake the Croissants

  1. Place the assembled croissants on a baking sheet. Cover them with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are heated through.
  3. For a crispy top, remove the foil during the last 3-5 minutes of baking.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Remove the croissants from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Customize the cheese and ham to suit your taste.
  • Add a slice of tomato or a handful of spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 300°F for 5-7 minutes.
