For the Filling:
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
For the Dough & Coating:
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 10 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Prepare the Apple Filling:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and water.
- Stir and cook until the apples soften and the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble the Apple Pie Bombs:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flatten each biscuit dough piece into a small circle.
- Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each dough piece.
- Pinch the edges together to seal tightly, forming a ball.
Bake & Coat:
- Place the apple bombs seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Melt the butter and mix the cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl.
- Once the bombs are out of the oven, dip each in melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
