Description

These Apple Pie Bombs bring the comforting flavors of a classic apple pie into a bite-sized, handheld treat! With a warm apple-cinnamon filling wrapped in buttery dough and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar, these easy-to-make treats are perfect for holidays, parties, or a quick dessert craving.

Ingredients

Scale
For the Filling:
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
For the Dough & Coating:
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare the Apple Filling:
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and water.
  2. Stir and cook until the apples soften and the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble the Apple Pie Bombs:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Flatten each biscuit dough piece into a small circle.
  3. Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each dough piece.
  4. Pinch the edges together to seal tightly, forming a ball.
Bake & Coat:
  1. Place the apple bombs seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Melt the butter and mix the cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl.
  4. Once the bombs are out of the oven, dip each in melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Serve & Enjoy!
  • Enjoy warm for the best gooey center!

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for a perfect sweet-tart balance.
  • These are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Serve with caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence!
