Description

For the Meatloaf:

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup dried wood ear mushrooms, soaked and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup glass noodles, soaked and cut into small pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Egg Yolk Glaze:

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, mix together ground pork, eggs, chopped wood ear mushrooms, glass noodles, garlic, green onions, fish sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Steam the Meatloaf:

    • Transfer the mixture to a heatproof dish and smooth the top.
    • Steam over medium heat for 25-30 minutes until firm.
  • Add the Egg Yolk Glaze:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolks and water.
    • Brush the mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
    • Cover and steam for an additional 5 minutes until the glaze is set.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Let cool slightly before slicing.
    • Serve with steamed rice and fresh herbs like cilantro or Thai basil.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of five-spice powder or a splash of soy sauce to the meat mixture.
