Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Pasta:

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice

For the Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 medium yellow onions, diced
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Butter Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mild pepper paste
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika (not smoked)
  • 1 tsp dried mint (or fresh)
  • 1 tsp Turkish chili flakes (or regular chili flakes)

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 23 small garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 23 tbsp water (to thin, if needed)

To Garnish:

  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, diced

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta
    • Boil 8 ounces of pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Seasoned Beef
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 lb lean ground beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until it begins to brown.
    • Stir in diced onions, salt, pepper, sweet paprika powder, onion powder, and tomato paste. Cook until onions are translucent, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Make the Butter Sauce
    • In a small saucepan, melt ¼ cup unsalted butter over low heat. Add olive oil, mild pepper paste, sweet paprika, dried mint, and chili flakes. Stir and cook for about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  • Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
    • In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Add water as needed to thin the sauce to a pourable consistency.
  • Assemble the Dish
    • Place cooked pasta on a deep plate or dish.
    • Top with garlic yogurt sauce (about ¼ of the mixture).
    • Add the seasoned beef on top.
    • Drizzle the butter sauce over the beef and pasta.
    • Garnish with minced parsley and diced cherry tomatoes.
  • Serve
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitute Turkish chili flakes with regular chili flakes if unavailable.
  • For a vegetarian version, use plant-based ground meat.
  • Adjust spice levels to your preference by increasing or reducing the chili flakes.
