Units Scale

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For Frying:

  • 4 cups vegetable oil

For the Pink Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough:

    • In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
    • Stir in sugar, melted butter, egg, salt, and cinnamon.
    • Gradually add flour, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Shape and Fry:

    • Roll out dough to ½-inch thickness and cut into oval shapes. Let rest for 15 minutes.
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or pan to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry each doughnut for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
    • Drain on paper towels and let cool.
  3. Prepare the Frosting:

    • In a bowl, beat butter until fluffy.
    • Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in strawberry puree and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Assemble:

    • Spread the pink frosting generously over the cooled doughnuts.
  5. Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a baked version, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes instead of frying.
  • Add more strawberry puree for a deeper pink color and extra fruitiness.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze without frosting for later use.
