Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Beef & Broccoli:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

For the Yum Yum Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 12 tbsp water (to thin, if needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yum Yum Sauce – In a small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients until smooth. Adjust consistency with water if needed. Set aside.
  2. Cook the broccoli – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Brown the beef – In the same skillet, add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  4. Make the teriyaki sauce – Add garlic, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper to the beef. Stir well to coat.
  5. Combine and simmer – Return the broccoli to the skillet, stir everything together, and let simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Serve and garnish – Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice, drizzle with Yum Yum sauce, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • Swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For a low-carb version, serve over cauliflower rice.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick!
