Description

These Stovetop Candied Sweet Potatoes are a rich and cozy side dish featuring tender sweet potato slices coated in a buttery brown sugar glaze with warm cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, crunchy pecans, and sweet cranberries. A comforting classic perfect for holidays or any hearty meal.

 


Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped

 

  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries

Instructions

  • nutmeg, and salt.
  • Add sliced sweet potatoes and toss to coat in the glaze.
  • Cover and cook for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized.
  • Stir in chopped pecans and dried cranberries during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

 

  • Serve warm, garnished with extra pecans if desired.
