- 2 ribeye or filet mignon steaks (8 oz each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Grilled Shrimp:
- 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For Serving (Optional):
- Mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes
- Grilled asparagus or garlic butter green beans
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
1. Prepare the Steak:
- Remove steaks from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
- Season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), then reduce heat.
- Add butter, garlic, and herbs, spooning the melted butter over the steaks for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
2. Grill the Shrimp:
- In a bowl, mix shrimp, olive oil, melted butter, garlic, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat.
- Grill shrimp for 2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
- Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
3. Assemble & Serve:
- Plate the steak and shrimp together.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, or your favorite side.
