For the Fries
- 26 oz frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
For the Cajun Ranch Cheese Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground white or black pepper
- 2 tsp ranch seasoning powder (or more, to taste)
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, divided
- 8 oz white cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
1. Bake or Air Fry the Fries
- Preheat oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange French fries in a single layer on a baking sheet or air fryer basket.
- Bake or air fry according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
2. Make the Cajun Cheese Sauce
- In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in milk (½ cup at a time), stirring to keep the sauce smooth.
- Stir in salt, pepper, ranch seasoning, and ¼ tsp cayenne pepper.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Add shredded white cheddar cheese, stirring until fully melted and creamy.
3. Assemble & Serve
- Transfer crispy fries to a serving platter.
- Pour the Cajun ranch cheese sauce evenly over the fries.
- Sprinkle with the remaining ¼ tsp cayenne pepper.
