Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika. Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken breasts for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics:
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and sauté until softened (about 3 minutes). Stir in garlic and thyme, cooking for another minute.
- Make the Sauce:
- Add chicken broth to deglaze the skillet, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Combine and Cook:
- Return chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- Optional Add-Ins: Add mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and texture.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
- Substitution: Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
