Description

These Sloppy Joe Nachos combine all the bold, savory flavors of a classic sloppy joe with crispy tortilla chips and gooey melted cheddar cheese. Topped with lettuce, pickles, jalapeños, and a tangy sour cream drizzle, they’re the ultimate game day or party appetizer that’s ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1/2 small onion, diced

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 8 oz tortilla chips

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1/4 cup sliced pickles

  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for drizzling)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Add diced onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  • Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thick and flavorful.

  • Spread tortilla chips on a large baking sheet. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the chips.

  • Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

  • Remove from oven and top with shredded lettuce, pickles, and jalapeños.

  • Drizzle with sour cream and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Customize with toppings like diced tomatoes, red onion, or avocado.

  • For a spicier kick, add hot sauce to the beef mixture.

  • Easily double the recipe for a crowd!
