Ingredients
-
2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (16 oz total)
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
-
1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
-
1/4 cup slivered almonds
-
2 tbsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds (or both)
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
Optional: 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a bundt or round baking pan.
-
Cut biscuit dough into quarters and place in a large mixing bowl.
-
In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
-
Pour the seasoned garlic butter over the biscuit dough pieces and toss to coat thoroughly.
-
Divide the dough into three portions. Begin layering the first third in the pan.
-
Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, parsley, slivered almonds, and seeds.
-
Repeat layering with the remaining dough and toppings, pressing down gently between layers.
-
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown, puffed, and cooked through.
-
Let the monkey bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate, or serve directly from the pan for a rustic look.
Notes
-
For a sharper flavor, use aged cheddar or add grated Parmesan.
-
Swap almonds for chopped walnuts or sunflower seeds for a different crunch.
-
This bread pairs well with warm marinara or ranch for dipping.
