Description

This Sautéed Asparagus with Balsamic Glaze is a simple yet elegant appetizer or side dish. Fresh asparagus is lightly sautéed until tender-crisp, then drizzled with a rich, tangy balsamic glaze. Naturally gluten-free and full of flavor, this quick and healthy dish is perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Asparagus: Trim the tough ends of the asparagus spears.
  2. Sauté the Asparagus: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add asparagus and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but still crisp. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic.
  3. Make the Balsamic Glaze: In a small saucepan, bring balsamic vinegar to a simmer over low heat. Stir in honey, if using, and let it reduce for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Drizzle & Serve: Transfer the asparagus to a serving plate and drizzle with the balsamic glaze. Garnish with Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, top with toasted almonds or pine nuts.
  • Swap honey for maple syrup for a different flavor twist.
  • If you prefer roasted asparagus, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes instead of sautéing.
