Description

A fusion of Filipino steamed puto and rich, chocolatey brownies, served with fresh whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and a drizzle of berry sauce. A unique and indulgent dessert!

For the Puto Brownies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup berry sauce or strawberry syrup
  • Edible flowers and microgreens (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
    • In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs.
    • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
    • Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  2. Steam the Puto Brownies:

    • Grease puto molds or silicone muffin cups.
    • Fill each mold 3/4 full with batter.
    • Steam over medium heat for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    • Let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Dessert:

    • Place steamed puto brownies on a serving board with dollops of whipped cream.
    • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with berry sauce.
    • Garnish with edible flowers and microgreens for an elegant touch.
  4. Serve Immediately & Enjoy!

Notes

  • Try using ube ice cream for a Filipino-inspired twist.
  • Swap berry sauce for chocolate ganache for extra decadence.
