    • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Dairy:
    • 8 oz mozzarella cheese (shredded)
    • 8 oz Parmesan cheese (grated)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta:

  • Boil all three pasta types together in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Meat Mixture:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage and hamburger until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Add the pepperoni, green bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

3. Combine with Sauce:

  • Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.

4. Assemble the Cavatini:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large baking dish, layer as follows:
    • Cooked pasta
    • Meat and sauce mixture
    • Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of cheese on top.

5. Bake:

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
