- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
For the Cake:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Make the Pecan Topping: Pour melted butter into the baking pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the butter, then arrange pecan halves on top.
- Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Assemble & Bake: Carefully pour the cake batter over the pecan topping, spreading evenly. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Flip & Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 5–10 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a serving plate while still warm.
