Description

A light, creamy, and festive red, white, and blue dessert—perfect for Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations! Layers of fluffy cake, sweet berries, and a luscious cream filling make this an irresistible summer treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Cream Layer – In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in whipped cream until fully combined.
2️⃣ Assemble the Trifle – In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, layer half of the cake cubes, followed by a layer of sliced strawberries, a layer of blueberries, and a layer of the cream mixture. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
3️⃣ Decorate – Arrange additional strawberries and blueberries on top in a star pattern. Sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles if desired.
4️⃣ Chill & Serve – Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use pound cake for a richer dessert or angel food cake for a lighter option.
  • Swap out strawberries for raspberries for a different berry twist.
  • Can be made a day ahead—just add fresh fruit and sprinkles before serving.
  • Perfect for BBQs, picnics, and holiday celebrations!
