Description

These Parmesan-Crusted Lamb Chops are crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor! Coated in a golden Parmesan and herb crust, then pan-seared to perfection, these lamb chops are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Perfect for a gourmet dinner at home, they pair beautifully with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Lamb Chops:

  • 8 lamb chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (for binding)

For the Parmesan Crust:

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or 1/2 tsp dried)
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for pan-frying)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Lamb Chops:

  1. Pat the lamb chops dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. Lightly coat each chop with Dijon mustard to help the crust stick.

2. Make the Parmesan Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, and paprika.
  2. Press each lamb chop into the Parmesan mixture, ensuring an even coating.

3. Cook the Lamb Chops:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear lamb chops for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. If needed, finish in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 5 minutes for a more even cook.

4. Serve & Enjoy:

  • Let the lamb chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Pair with roasted potatoes, sautéed greens, or a lemony salad for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, bake chops at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes after searing.
  • Want a stronger crust? Dip the chops in a beaten egg before coating with the Parmesan mixture.
  • Prefer oven-baked? Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway.
