Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, orange zest, and minced garlic.
  2. Sear the Salmon:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper and place them in the skillet, skin-side down.
    • Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Glaze:
    • In the same skillet, add the orange glaze mixture and bring to a gentle simmer.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
  4. Coat the Salmon:
    • Return the salmon fillets to the pan, spooning the glaze over them.
    • Let them cook for another 2 minutes, ensuring they are well-coated and heated through.
  5. Serve & Enjoy:
    • Drizzle any remaining glaze over the salmon.
    • Serve hot with rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • Use wild-caught salmon for the best flavor and texture.
  • Substitute maple syrup for honey if preferred.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
