Perfect for sandwiches, toast, or dipping, this easy bread recipe is vegan-friendly and comes together in under 1 hour!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water, warm

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.

2. Knead & Rest

  1. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  2. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

3. Cook on the Stovetop

  1. Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium-low heat. Lightly grease with olive oil.
  2. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the pan. Cover with a lid and cook for 10-12 minutes on one side.
  3. Flip the bread, cover again, and cook for 10-12 more minutes until golden brown.

4. Cool & Serve

  1. Remove from the pan and let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
