- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3/4 cup water, warm
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead & Rest
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
3. Cook on the Stovetop
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium-low heat. Lightly grease with olive oil.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the pan. Cover with a lid and cook for 10-12 minutes on one side.
- Flip the bread, cover again, and cook for 10-12 more minutes until golden brown.
4. Cool & Serve
- Remove from the pan and let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra flavor, brush the bread with garlic butter or olive oil before serving.
- Make it whole wheat – Replace 1 cup of all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
