For the Dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Mulberry Filling:
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen mulberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Knead until smooth and elastic (8-10 minutes). Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Make the Filling: In a saucepan, cook mulberries, sugar, and lemon juice over medium heat until soft. Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened. Let cool.
- Roll & Fill: Roll out the dough into a rectangle (12×18 inches). Spread the mulberry filling evenly over the dough.
- Shape the Rolls: Roll up tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Glaze & Serve: Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls before serving. Enjoy
Notes
- Swap mulberries for blackberries or raspberries if desired.
- For extra richness, brush the rolls with melted butter before baking.
