Description

This Moroccan Spiced Grilled Chicken is a flavor-packed, heart-healthy meal that’s perfect for any occasion. Infused with warm Moroccan spices, a touch of citrus, and smoky paprika, this high-protein dish is both delicious and nutritious. It’s low in cholesterol and ideal for a cardiac-friendly diet, making it a great choice for a lean and flavorful Mediterranean-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 chicken thighs)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • coriander, smoked paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  • Marinate the chicken: Coat the chicken breasts or thighs in the marinade, ensuring even coverage. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor).
  • Preheat the grill: Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the chicken: Cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred.
  • Rest & serve: Remove from heat, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice.
  • Garnish & enjoy: Serve on a bed of fresh greens with cherry tomatoes and sliced onions, and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Swap chicken for tofu or chickpeas for a vegetarian version.
  • Serve with quinoa, couscous, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • For extra juiciness, use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days for easy meal prep.
