Description

Whip up this quick and delicious Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles dish! Packed with rich flavors, tender noodles, and a sweet-savory sauce, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 10 oz linguine (or preferred noodles)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Noodles

  • Cook linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2. Brown the Ground Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.

3. Add Garlic and Sauces

  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until combined.

4. Thicken the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add this to the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.

5. Combine with Noodles

  • Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat thoroughly in the sauce.
  • Let everything simmer together for 2-3 minutes to heat through.

6. Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle with sliced green onions for garnish and serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Use rice noodles for a gluten-free version (ensure your soy sauce and hoisin are gluten-free).
  • Add vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra nutrition and color.
