Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 10 oz linguine (or preferred noodles)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the Noodles
- Cook linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. Brown the Ground Beef
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
3. Add Garlic and Sauces
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until combined.
4. Thicken the Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add this to the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
5. Combine with Noodles
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat thoroughly in the sauce.
- Let everything simmer together for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
6. Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions for garnish and serve warm.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Use rice noodles for a gluten-free version (ensure your soy sauce and hoisin are gluten-free).
- Add vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra nutrition and color.
