Description

These Mini King Cake Bites are a fun and easy way to celebrate Mardi Gras! Made with crescent roll dough, a sweet cinnamon-cream cheese filling, and topped with a festive glaze and purple, green, and gold sugar, they bring all the flavors of a traditional King Cake in a bite-sized treat. Perfect for Mardi Gras parties, masquerade balls, and parades, these easy Mardi Gras desserts are a must-have!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Purple, green, and gold sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and cut into small squares.
  4. Place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square, then fold the corners in to seal.
  5. Arrange on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. In another bowl, whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over warm bites.
  7. Immediately sprinkle with purple, green, and gold sugar. Let set before serving.

Notes

  • These bites are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • To add a traditional King Cake surprise, hide a mini plastic baby in one of the bites before serving!
  • If you prefer a flakier texture, use puff pastry instead of crescent roll dough.
