These Matcha Brownies are vibrant, chewy, and packed with earthy matcha flavor, perfectly balanced with sweet white chocolate chips. Made with ceremonial-grade matcha, these brownies are a delicious fusion of Japanese tea and classic dessert—perfect for matcha lovers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder (ceremonial grade for best flavor)
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tsp bourbon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 sticks (10 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Make the Matcha Batter

  1. In a bowl, whisk together matcha powder, flour, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add melted butter and vanilla extract, whisking until combined.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until smooth.
  5. Stir in white chocolate chips.

3️⃣ Bake the Brownies

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  2. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Let cool completely before slicing.

4️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!

  • Dust with extra matcha powder or drizzle with melted white chocolate for an elegant finish.

Notes

  • For fudgier brownies, bake on the lower end of the time range.
  • Use high-quality matcha for a rich green color and less bitterness.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
