For the Dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
For the Maple Pecan Topping:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup chopped pecans

Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, melted butter, egg, and salt. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

Make the Topping:
- In a saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar and maple syrup. Stir until smooth.
- Pour into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle with pecans.

Make the Filling:
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.

Assemble & Bake:
- Place the rolls over the maple pecan topping.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Invert & Serve:
- Immediately flip onto a serving tray so the gooey maple pecan topping coats the buns.
- Serve warm!
Notes
- For extra maple flavor, add ½ tsp maple extract to the topping.
- Make ahead by refrigerating the assembled rolls overnight, then bake in the morning.
- Serve with a sprinkle of sea salt for a sweet-salty contrast.
