Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Breast recipe is a quick, 12-minute dinner idea featuring tender chicken in a mouthwatering 5-ingredient honey garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, this easy recipe uses pantry staples to create a flavorful glaze that pairs beautifully with rice or veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Meat:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness

Produce:

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • Green onions, for garnish

Condiments:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar, seasoned

Baking & Spices:

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Oils & Vinegars:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Dairy:

  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Lightly dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Sear the Chicken:
Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C internal temperature). Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 tbsp butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine:
Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes, basting the chicken with the glaze.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve immediately with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red chili flakes to the sauce.
  • Substitute rice vinegar with apple cider vinegar if unavailable.
  • To thicken the sauce further, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir into the sauce.
