Instructions
Prepare the Steak:
- Season the Steak:
- Pat the steak dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Steak:
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet, tent with foil, and let rest.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi:
- Cook the Shrimp:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in the beef broth, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly.
- Combine:
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and lemon zest.
Serve:
- Plate the Dish:
- Slice the steak and serve alongside the shrimp scampi. Pair with cooked rice, pasta, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Notes
- Substitute beef broth with chicken broth for a lighter flavor.
- For added richness, deglaze the skillet with 1/4 cup white wine before adding the broth.
