Description

The ultimate Homemade Cranberry Sauce recipe made with fresh cranberries, tangy orange juice, and just the right amount of sugar. Perfect for Thanksgiving or any festive occasion, this easy-to-make sauce adds a burst of flavor to your meals.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries thoroughly under running water.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water and orange juice. Heat over high heat and bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in sugar and salt, whisking until dissolved.
  4. Add the cranberries to the liquid and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 12 minutes, allowing the cranberries to burst.
  5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature before serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover cranberry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freezing: Freeze the cooled sauce in a resealable freezer bag or airtight container for up to 1 month.
  • Reheating: To reheat, simmer in a saucepan over medium heat. If frozen, allow to thaw first and simmer for 5–6 minutes to thicken.
