For the Casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Layer the Casserole:
- Spread half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
- Top with half of the cooked beef mixture.
- Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes and beef.
- Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour evenly over the casserole.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Add Cheese & Finish: Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, drizzle melted butter, and sprinkle paprika (if using). Bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve: Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
