- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, parsley, thyme, and rosemary until evenly combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don’t overmix!).
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder to the dry ingredients.
- Use gruyère or pepper jack cheese for a twist on flavor.
