Description

These Garlic-Swirl Dinner Rolls are soft, buttery, and bursting with garlicky flavor — the perfect savory side for dinner, brunch, or special gatherings. Rolled with a garlic-herb filling and optionally topped with Parmesan, they’re irresistible from the first fluffy bite.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Topping:

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Extra chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

  2. Mix in melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.

  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled.

  4. While rising, mix the filling: softened butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.

  5. Punch down dough and roll out into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick. Spread the garlic mixture evenly over the surface.

  6. Roll up from the long side and cut into 12 even pieces. Place in a greased or parchment-lined round baking pan.

  7. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.

  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Sprinkle with Parmesan, if using.

  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with extra parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Add shredded mozzarella or cheddar to the filling for a cheesy variation.

  • These rolls freeze well — reheat in a warm oven before serving.

  • Perfect for holiday meals, soups, or anytime you crave soft, garlicky bread.
