  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Frying & Topping

  • 3 cups vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Optional dipping sauces (chocolate, caramel, strawberry, etc.)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Batter

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.

Step 2: Prepare for Frying

  1. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan or fryer.

Step 3: Fry the Funnel Cake Fries

  1. Pipe the batter into hot oil in 4-inch strips, frying in small batches.
  2. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Step 4: Dust & Serve

  1. Dust generously with powdered sugar while warm.
  2. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it extra crispy by frying in small batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • For added flavor, mix cinnamon into the powdered sugar.
  • Use a squeeze bottle for easier piping and uniform fries.
  • Storage: Best eaten fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for 1 day and reheated in an oven.
