Description

This easy, no-bake sugar cookie dough is a sweet treat you can enjoy straight from the bowl! Made with heat-treated flour and topped with colorful sprinkles, it’s perfect for a quick dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Baking & Spices:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated, see note below)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Dairy:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp milk

Other:

  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Heat-Treat the Flour:

  1. Spread the flour evenly on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or microwave it in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until it reaches 165°F (74°C). Let it cool completely before using.

2. Cream the Butter and Sugar:

  1. In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add the Wet Ingredients:

  1. Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until smooth.

4. Combine the Dough:

  1. Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt to the butter mixture, stirring until fully incorporated and the dough reaches a soft, smooth consistency.

5. Add Sprinkles (Optional):

  1. Fold in rainbow sprinkles for a festive touch.

6. Serve:

  1. Scoop into a bowl or roll into small balls. Enjoy immediately, or chill for 5-10 minutes for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • Heat-Treated Flour: Heat-treating the flour ensures it’s safe to eat raw by eliminating potential bacteria. Don’t skip this step!
  • Storage: Store the cookie dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Customizations: Swap sprinkles for chocolate chips, mini M&Ms, or chopped nuts. Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  • Make It Vegan: Substitute butter with vegan butter, milk with plant-based milk, and ensure your sprinkles are vegan-friendly.
