Ingredients

Units Scale

Refrigerated:

  • 2 large eggs

Condiments:

  • 4 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • Sweetened condensed milk (for drizzling)

Oils & Vinegars:

  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for shallow frying)

Bread & Baked Goods:

  • 6 slices milk bread

Dairy:

  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Prepare the Toast:

  1. Spread Peanut Butter:
    • Spread 2 tbsp of peanut butter on one slice of milk bread and top with another slice to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining bread and peanut butter.
  2. Whisk the Eggs:
    • In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined.

Cook the French Toast:

  1. Heat the Oil:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Dip and Fry:
    • Dip each peanut butter sandwich into the whisked eggs, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Carefully place the sandwich into the hot oil. Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Drain the Excess Oil:
    • Remove the toast from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve:

  1. Top and Enjoy:
    • Place the French toast on a serving plate. Top with a pat of butter and drizzle generously with sweetened condensed milk. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Substitute milk bread with brioche or white bread if unavailable.
  • Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
  • Serve with fresh fruit or a side of whipped cream for a fancier presentation.
