For the Dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Decoration:
- 3–4 whole eggs, dyed (uncooked) (Easter bread with dyed eggs)
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, whisk together warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla, anise extract (or orange zest), and salt.
- Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
2. Shape the Bread:
- Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and roll each into a long rope.
- Braid the ropes together, then form into a circular wreath.
- Place the dyed whole eggs (uncooked) into the dough (Easter bread with egg in the middle).
3. Second Rise & Bake:
- Cover the bread and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
