Units Scale

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Dr. Pepper Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Brownie Batter:

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add the butter and sugar mixture, whisking constantly until smooth.
  • Stir in the Dr. Pepper soda until fully incorporated.

3. Mix the Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

4. Bake the Brownies:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before adding the glaze.

5. Prepare the Dr. Pepper Glaze:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the Dr. Pepper soda, butter, and cocoa powder. Heat over medium heat until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

6. Glaze and Serve:

  • Pour the warm glaze over the cooled brownies, spreading it evenly.
  • Let the glaze set for about 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra moisture and richness, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the batter.
