Description

Crispy Bang Bang Chicken is a perfect blend of crunchy, tender chicken and a creamy, sweet, and mildly spicy sauce. This versatile dish is ideal as an appetizer or a main course for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Oil for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Set Up Dredging Station
    • Place the beaten eggs in a separate bowl.
    • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and back into the flour mixture.
  3. Fry Chicken
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the chicken pieces in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
    • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce

  1. Combine Sauce Ingredients
    • In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.
  2. Toss Chicken in Sauce
    • In a large bowl, toss the crispy chicken with the bang bang sauce until evenly coated.

Notes

  • Adjust Spice Level: For a spicier kick, increase the sriracha to 3 tbsp. For milder flavor, reduce to 1 tbsp.
  • Alternative Cooking Method: For a healthier option, bake the breaded chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for crispiness.
