  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 10 small flour tortillas
  • Cooking spray
For Dipping:
  • Queso dip, guacamole, or sour cream

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
  1. Set oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the Beef Mixture:
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic, sauté for 2 minutes until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Mix in salsa and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Flautas:
  1. Place 2 tbsp of beef mixture onto each tortilla.
  2. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, then roll tightly.
  3. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Bake:
  1. Lightly spray flautas with cooking spray for crispiness.
  2. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve:
  1. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with queso dip, guacamole, or sour cream.
