Description

This creamy tuna salad with bacon and tomatoes grilled sandwich is a savory, crispy, and indulgent twist on the classic. Made with rich tuna salad, crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, melty cheese, and golden-grilled bread, it’s the ultimate comfort lunch for any sandwich lover. Perfect for quick meals, brunch, or hearty snacks.

Ingredients

For the Tuna Salad:

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt or sour cream

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

  • 1 small tomato, diced

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Additional:

  • 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped

  • 4 slices cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

  • 8 slices whole grain or sourdough bread

  • Butter or mayo (for grilling bread)

Instructions

  • Make the Tuna Salad: In a bowl, combine tuna, mayo, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, red onion, celery, diced tomato, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well blended.

  • Assemble the Sandwiches: Butter or spread mayo on one side of each bread slice. On the opposite side, layer cheese, a scoop of tuna salad, chopped bacon, and another slice of cheese if desired. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.

  • Grill to Perfection: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  • Serve: Slice in halves or quarters. Serve hot with chips, pickles, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Use sour cream instead of Greek yogurt for a tangier flavor.

  • Add avocado slices or a pinch of chili flakes for an extra kick.

  • Best grilled on a cast iron skillet for even crisping.
