Ingredients
For the Tuna Salad:
-
2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
-
1/3 cup mayonnaise
-
2 tbsp Greek yogurt or sour cream
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard
-
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
-
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
-
1 small tomato, diced
-
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
Additional:
-
4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
-
4 slices cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
-
8 slices whole grain or sourdough bread
-
Butter or mayo (for grilling bread)
Instructions
-
Make the Tuna Salad: In a bowl, combine tuna, mayo, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, red onion, celery, diced tomato, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well blended.
-
Assemble the Sandwiches: Butter or spread mayo on one side of each bread slice. On the opposite side, layer cheese, a scoop of tuna salad, chopped bacon, and another slice of cheese if desired. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
-
Grill to Perfection: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
-
Serve: Slice in halves or quarters. Serve hot with chips, pickles, or a fresh salad.
Notes
-
Use sour cream instead of Greek yogurt for a tangier flavor.
-
Add avocado slices or a pinch of chili flakes for an extra kick.
-
Best grilled on a cast iron skillet for even crisping.
