Description

Creamy Chicken Sausage Penne Pasta is a delicious and hearty one-pot meal that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. This comforting pasta features juicy chicken breast, savory chicken sausage, and penne tossed in a luscious tomato cream sauce. Finished with Parmesan and fresh parsley, it’s an easy Italian-inspired dish your family will love.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 chicken breast, diced

  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced into rounds

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced chicken and sauté for 5–6 minutes until cooked through.

  3. Add chicken sausage slices and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until browned.

  4. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. Pour in marinara sauce and stir in heavy cream. Simmer on low for 5 minutes.

  6. Add cooked penne to the skillet and toss well to coat in the sauce.

  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.

  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

    • Substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk for a dairy-free version.

    • Use gluten-free pasta if needed.

    • Great with a side of garlic bread or a simple green salad.
